It’s springtime! And we are moving forward with Under the Dog script.
To prove we haven’t been hibernating for the last couple of winter months, we’d like to show you a glimpse of what we’ve been working on. (Well, it’s actually what the production team has been doing.)
So, the script is done. Yes, it’s already completed. C’est fini! You notice there’s a red stamp on the cover. That says “final version” in Japanese.
However, that’s not the end of the story in making of anime. From here, the production moves on to a process called “storyboarding”. Director Ando is currently hard at work drawing storyboards – converting what’s been described in words into visuals. During that process, some of the lines or even a whole scene may be changed. Literally, the story of Under the Dog is now being re-constructed, scene-by-scene, inside the director’s head!
Of course, we understand UTD backers are eager to see what the storyboards look like, so we are planning to show some of the storyboards that Director Ando drew. So stay tuned!
Anyway, here’s the initial or opening scene of Under the Dog, or the so-called “avant (title)”. Sorry, we can only show the script in Japanese. Those who can read Japanese or studied in school, give it a try! [BTW, avant in French means “before”.]
Last, but not least, here’s what our Anthea-chan thought of the UTD script:
Let us know what you thought, especially of Anthea-chan!
If you say you like her, she might appear more often on our Updates…Who knows?
